The Annual Kids day was celebrated on 12th August 2018 at the Chennai, Pune, Gurgaon & Bangalore offices of 3DS India. We had various activities lined up for the kids including Magic Show, Pottery, Origami, among others. The employees got a chance to bring their families to the workplace and introduce them to their colleagues.
In line with our vision of “providing businesses and people with virtual universes to imagine sustainable innovations”, we had also organized a competition to “Design & Print an Aircraft”. All kids were given a crash course on SolidWorks App for kids by Gopinadh KVNSN. The kids quickly grasped the usage of the software and designed their dream aircraft.
The kids were also introduced to 3D printing by Mahantesh Hukkeri of Altem Technologies for 3D printing the aircraft model using a live 3D printer. Altem Technologies is the Value Solutions Gold Partner for Dassault Systèmes in India.
The competition gave these young designers a platform to transform their creativity to a live model using cutting-edge technology. There were close to 20 kids who participated, Jayanth Krish, Manas Sharma & Partha T M came up with the best aircraft models.
It was truly inspiring to see the creativity and enthusiasm of the young minds!
